Marvin Gaye is a singer, songwriter, composer, and producer. Gaye is known as a Motown legend with two Grammy Awards and multiple hits such as “I Heard It Through the Grapevine,” “Stubborn Kind of Fellow,” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” In 1982 Gaye released one of his most famous love songs called “Sexual Healing.” This was Marvin’s first single on the Columbia Records Label for the Midnight Love. “Sexual Healing” became Marvin’s biggest single in five years, bringing him back into the lime light. “Sexual Healing” became the longest running # 1 R&B single of the 1980’s and reached #1 on the Billboard R&B charts. The single also reached overseas audiences by hitting #4 on the UK Pop Charts and #1 in New Zealand. The single later went on to win Marvin his first Grammy award with Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Instrumental. |
